Taking Wikis to school

April 6th, 2008 by herbison in Uncategorized · No Comments

I went to school Monday after starting this class all excited about sharing Wikis with my one freshman computer class. They were excited too, because they thought they were typing answers to an MCAS question! I wanted to show a quick video clip to introduce the subject, but I’d already learned that this was blocked. So I just demoed some wikis, then let them go to pbwiki and sign up. Many of them couldn’t access their passwords, so their homework was to go home and read their email and get set up. I’m hoping they all did this, so that tomorrow we can dive in and build some wikis in class.

In the meantime, the tech office at my school graciously did some software updates and installations so that now I can show video clips. I’m making progress, slowly but surely!
